Our parent/child programs have become so popular, we now allow and encourage parents to attend any of our camps with their kids.
We invite you to join the ever-growing list of delighted and satisfied clients Heartland Hockey Camp has served over the past 32 years. In 1989, we pioneered the concept of inviting parents to attend our camp with their kids. It has become an overwhelming success and our most popular program. Our Parent/Child Camp is unique in that our entire facility is privately owned and reserved for our camp clientele only. This environment allows parents and their children to participate and enjoy a wide variety of recreational and athletic opportunities together, in a beautifully wooded lakeside setting, without interruption or disturbance. We encourage all parents attending our camp, to participate in all of the camp activities with their kids. However, our activities are all optional and it is not mandatory that the parents take part in all or any of the daily recreational and athletic programs. The most popular feature of our Parent/Child Camp is the combined on-ice training that allows parents and their children to train with & compete against one another on the ice. We also welcome parents that do not skate or play hockey to attend camp with their children, as there are a wide variety of recreational activities available for you to enjoy along with your kids.
Parents are encouraged to stay on site at the Heartland Hockey Camp. Most parents stay in a dormitory room with their kids. A limited number of private dorm rooms are available and we can also accommodate multiple families wishing to lodge in the same dorm room. We also have a limited number of furnished apartments available for rent, on site, at the Heartland Hockey Camp. These apartments feature two bedrooms, a living room, private bathroom, kitchenette, cable TV and air conditioning. For those parents not wishing to stay at the Heartland Hockey Camp, we recommend lodging at Ruttgers Bay Lake Lodge, (800)-450-4545 or the Deerwood Country Inn, (218)-534-3 101. The Ruttgers Bay Lake Lodge is located 3 miles south of our camp on Minnesota State Highway #6 and the Deerwood Country Inn is located 1 mile north of our camp on Minnesota State Highway #6. We have a direct hot-link to Ruttgers on our home page.
All parents staying at the camp, dine with their children and other group members in our cozy Heartland dining room over-looking the Heartland Creek. Meals are also available to parents not staying at the camp for a nominal fee.
