CURRENT SECTION HEARTLAND NEWS UPDATE


2015 60 & Over USA Hockey National Champions!

The Heartland Hockey Camp 60 and over team won their 5th USA Hockey National Championship, April 16-19, 2015. The team went undefeated in the tournament.

Game 1: HHC vs. Tampa, FL 13-0
Game 2: HHC vs. Detroit, MI 3-0
Game 3: HHC vs. Boston, MA 5-1
Game 4: HHC vs. T's Pub 3-1

Highlights of the tournament include former NHL player and 4-time Stanley Cup winner, Gordie Lane's game winning goal in the championship game with only six minutes remaining, assisted by former Minnesota North Stars player, Tom Younghans & Tim Fink, from So. St. Paul, Minnesota. Todd Zejdlik, from Plymouth, Minnesota & the Air Force Academy, led all defensemen in tournament scoring, with 5 goals & 3 assists. Player/Coach, Steve Jensen, was the leading scorer for the Heartland Hockey Camp Champs, with 6 goals & 4 assists. Goal-tender, Frank Smith, led the tournament in all goal statistics, giving up only 2 goals in 4 games.
