About the Scholarship

This scholarship aims to celebrate Coach Steve's values by recognizing and supporting individuals who embody his spirit of hard work, perseverance, and a can-do attitude.

Eligibility Criteria

  • For entry, please have the applicant create something to demonstrate their love for the game of hockey, how they embody Coach Steve's values of hard work, perseverance, and a can do attitude.
  • This “creation” can be absolutely anything! Essay, Video, PowerPoint, Scrapbook, etc. The more creative, the better!
  • Once you have created your entry. Please attach it and email it to Heartland Hockey Scholarship Program
  • In the base of your email include as a minimum the following:
    • Parent/Guardian Name, Current Address, Telephone Number(s), Email Address, and Name, gender, and age (group) of potential applicant
    • List the number of attachments included in your email (So we know how many attachments we should have received, if any)
    • If the files are too big to attach, please include a link to your attachment in the base of your email. IE: Link to Youtube
    • Please also, have a parent or guardian fill out the following statement:
      • “I (Name), as the legal parent or guardian of (Name), Consent/Do Not Consent to have Heartland Hockey Camps utilize my son or daughters entry, as continued promotion for the Heartland Hockey Camp Scholarship Program, by reposting said entry on social media or The Heartland Hockey Website.”
  • All entries must be received by January 31st, 2024

    • Selection Process

    Applications will be reviewed by a committee dedicated to preserving the spirit of Coach Steve Jensen. Successful candidates will exemplify the values that defined his coaching philosophy.

    Award

    The recipient of the Steve Jensen Memorial Scholarship will receive a free week of tuition at Heartland Hockey Camp, be honored on our social media channels, have their name engraved on our scholarship plaque at camp, and will become part of a community committed to carrying forward Coach Steve's legacy.

    Restrictions

    1. Winners will receive one (1) tuition free camp not including additional travel or lodging costs to Heartland Hockey Camps Deerwood, MN
    2. Eligibility for free week of camp will be determined by availability of participant’s age/gender group for the 2024 summer camp season.
    3. Offer expires Jan 31st, 2024
